Preserve and can your own fruits and veggies

Growing your own food and shopping for local produce at the farmer’s market is a great way to eat healthy, save money and reduce your carbon footprint. But what happens when the growing season is over?

Learn how to preserve and can fresh fruits and vegetables at the Trinity River Audubon Center from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 15. Educators from the Texas AgriLife Extension Service will bring you current techniques and safety practices, a hands-on activity to get you started and a sample to take home.

Class fee is $35 per person. Register by Aug. 7 at Trinity River Audubon or call 214.309.5815.
